PIC'D

Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 14, 2026

PIC'D ("PIC'D," "we," or "us") is a student venture from the USC Iovine and Young Academy. PIC'D hasn't launched yet. This policy explains what we collect when you visit this site or join our waitlist, and what we do with it.

We don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
  • Your phone number, only if you choose to add it, plus a record of your SMS consent and when you gave it.
  • How you found us: which signup form you used, whether you came from a host or guest ad, campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example, utm_source or utm_content), and, if a friend shared their link with you, which waitlist member referred you.
  • Your approximate city and state, estimated from your internet connection when you sign up, and whether you signed up on a phone, tablet, or computer. We don't store your IP address or your exact location.
  • Your answer to the optional "What would you host first?" question, if you choose to answer.
  • A short share code we create for you, so we can count how many people your share links bring in.
  • Basic visit information from Vercel Web Analytics, such as pages viewed, the referring site, country, device type, and browser. This analytics doesn't use cookies.
  • Ad measurement information from the Meta Pixel, described under "Cookies and ad tracking" below.

We don't collect payment information, your contacts, your photos, or your precise location.

How we use it

  • To tell you when PIC'D launches and to send the launch updates you signed up for.
  • To text you launch updates, if you opted in.
  • To understand which ads, cities, devices, and share links bring people in, and what kinds of parties people want to host, using combined (aggregate) numbers.
  • To keep the waitlist working and protect it from spam and abuse.

We don't sell your personal information.

Text messages (SMS)

  • Program: PIC'D launch updates.
  • You'll only get texts if you check the SMS consent box and add your number.
  • Message frequency varies. We expect to send only a few texts before launch.
  • Msg and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email picd.team@gmail.com.
  • Consent to receive texts isn't a condition of any purchase.
  • Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that help us send messages.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that run the waitlist for us: Airtable (stores the waitlist), Vercel (hosts the site and analytics), and, once we start texting, a text messaging provider. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
  • Meta, through the Meta Pixel, as described below.
  • Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of PIC'D or others.
  • If PIC'D becomes a company or joins another one, the waitlist may move with it, and this policy will still apply to it.

Cookies and ad tracking

We use the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. It uses cookies and similar technology to record visits and signups on this site, and Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy. You can limit this through your browser settings, your device's ad settings, and your Meta ad preferences.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load the Meta Pixel.

The site also saves a few small notes in your own browser, such as whether you've already joined or closed a pop-up, so we don't ask twice. These stay on your device.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while the waitlist is active and you're subscribed, or until you ask us to delete it. If PIC'D doesn't launch, we'll delete the waitlist when the project ends.

Your choices and rights

  • Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email from us.
  • Texts: reply STOP.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: email picd.team@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

California residents can ask to know, correct, or delete the personal information we have about them, and can opt out of having it "shared" for ad targeting. We don't sell personal information. To make a request, email picd.team@gmail.com. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Age

The waitlist is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their information, email picd.team@gmail.com and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, such as encrypted connections and access limited to the PIC'D team. No system is perfectly secure, though.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email the waitlist.
